Handling

  • Unscrew the cap—bleed the cartridge. Some air may remain in the threaded area due to the filling process. Apply light pressure to the center of the cartridge piston to bleed the cartridge until grease begins to flow out.
  • Allow the grease that escapes during venting to drip into the high-pressure cylinder. This prepares the check valve for operation.
  • With the grease gun open, carefully screw the cartridge into the gun head through the guide ring, tightening it hand-tight. Attach the heavy-duty hose to the gun head. Then operate the grease gun until grease emerges from the nozzle. The grease gun is now ready for use.
  • The piston chamber of the grease gun is filled by the vacuum created by the piston, not by spring pressure as is customary. Therefore, the hand lever must not be opened abruptly. The lever must be opened evenly, quickly, and, if possible, fully with each stroke.
  • Note on the vacuum principle: To fill the piston chamber sufficiently with grease, a dwell time must be observed after each actuation. This dwell time varies and depends on the grease’s consistency/flowability (NLGI class) as well as its temperature. Depending on the fill volume, resistance will be felt sooner or later when compressing the hand lever.

The grease gun bears the GS mark = “tested safety.” It is designed in accordance with DIN 1283 for an operating pressure of 400 bar and calculated with a substantial safety margin. Due to its design, it requires less force than conventional grease guns.

Bremer & Leguil is a 10-minute walk from the train station. From the main exit, cross the station forecourt and turn right onto Mercatorstraße. Then turn left onto Königsstraße (pedestrian zone). At the “Lifesaver” fountain, turn right onto Am Burgacker. After crossing at the traffic lights, Bremer & Leguil is 50 meters further on the right-hand side.

By car
From Düsseldorf:
Take Exit 10 (DU-Duissern) off the A59. Turn right and follow the road. At the next traffic light, turn right onto Landfermannstraße. Follow the road and, after the third traffic light, turn right onto “Am Burgacker.”
From Dinslaken:
Take Exit 10 (DU-Duissern) off the A59. Turn right and follow the road until you reach the third street on the left. Turn onto Moselstraße there. At the next intersection, turn right onto Fuldastraße. After about 100 meters, turn left onto “Am Burgacker.”
