Dirt on solar modules doesn’t just lead to a loss of output. Localized deposits such as bird droppings or stubborn dirt buildup can cause so-called hotspots. This results in localized overheating of individual solar cells, which can lead to microcracks, material damage, and permanent losses in performance over the long term.
Regular and proper cleaning helps maintain energy efficiency and reduce the risk of damage caused by hotspots.
Modern photovoltaic modules feature sensitive anti-reflective coatings that ensure optimal light absorption. Unsuitable cleaning agents can damage these surfaces and permanently impair the modules’ performance.
Recent studies by the Fraunhofer Center for Silicon Photovoltaics (CSP) show that not every PV cleaner available on the market is suitable for modern solar modules. Therefore, only cleaning products that are compatible with the materials should be used.

Take Exit 13 (DU-Wanheimerort) off the A59. If you’re coming from Duisburg, turn right. If you’re coming from Düsseldorf, turn left. You are now on Wacholderstraße; follow this street. At the second traffic light, turn left onto Düsseldorfer Straße. Follow the road for about 1.5 km. At the traffic light, turn right onto Neuenhofstraße. Continue straight through the next intersection. After about 300 meters, you’ll see the Bremer & Leguil warehouse at number 101 on the left.

Bremer & Leguil is a 10-minute walk from the train station. From the main exit, cross the station forecourt and turn right onto Mercatorstraße. Then turn left onto Königsstraße (pedestrian zone). At the “Lifesaver” fountain, turn right onto Am Burgacker. After crossing at the traffic lights, Bremer & Leguil is 50 meters further on the right-hand side.
By car
From Düsseldorf:
Take Exit 10 (DU-Duissern) off the A59. Turn right and follow the road. At the next traffic light, turn right onto Landfermannstraße. Follow the road and, after the third traffic light, turn right onto “Am Burgacker.”
From Dinslaken:
Take Exit 10 (DU-Duissern) off the A59. Turn right and follow the road until you reach the third street on the left. Turn onto Moselstraße there. At the next intersection, turn right onto Fuldastraße. After about 100 meters, turn left onto “Am Burgacker.”
